Jitters--a coffeehouse for students, run by students--hasn't always been. Early in 1997 a few creative people started to show interest and support for creating a coffeehouse in their building. They all saw the potential for Jitters to help create a lasting, strong, and vital sense of community among the campus' artist, poets, authors, musicians, actors, comedians, dancers and other assorted folks who enjoyed a cup of joe and having a good time. They all devoted long hours to meetings which could have been more productive (but less fun) if the crew didn't have such short attention spans! They took over space in their hall, they badgered administrators, they drank a lot of coffee in the name of research. And thus, in the month of March in 1997, Jitters Coffeehouse was born. And ever since that day, it has tried to serve it's patrons to the best of it's ability. Jitters offers open mic nights, live band performances, game nights, dances, acoustic music, the occasional smoothie night, and other assorted craziness. Visit our Booking Page if you'd like more info on how you can play a gig at Jitters. It's a place for all students to sit and talk and listen to music and drink coffee. You should come and visit us sometime; you'll have a lot of fun!
