Want to play or host an event at Jitters? First, you have to contact Brooke, our booking person. However, a couple of rules to know before you do though:

• We have shows on Thursday and Friday's only
• There are rules to follow on stage. We'd like to have an environment and entertainment that everyone will enjoy. If you'd like, you can preview the contract right here.
• Thursday night is open mic night, performers are subject to the same rules and regulations of the contract.
• All performers must be 18 years of age prior to the date of the performance
  

Jitters Coffeehouse
Entertainment Contract

THIS CONTRACT, for the personal services of performers for the engagement described below is made between the undersigned purchaser of entertainment (herein called “Jitters Coffeehouse”) and the undersigned performer or performers (herein called “Artist,” even though there may be more than one person”).

7.    Arrangement of all services is through Jitters Coffeehouse.

8.    It is understood that the Artist executes this agreement as an independent contractor and is not an employee of Jitters Coffeehouse. As such, the parties will each be responsible for their own acts of negligence as determined by law and University policy.

9.    Details and manner of performance are under the control of the Artist, or in the instance where a group is involved, the leader of the Artist. However, Jitters staff has the right to direct the Artist to discontinue any activity constituting violation of University policy, as well as any federal, state or local laws. UW-Whitewater has banned “moshing” and similar behavior at events.  Any attempt by the artist to encourage those types of behaviors will result in immediate termination of performance.  Similarly, any blatant discriminatory remarks, hateful speech, slander or promotion of alcohol and/or drug consumption by the Artist is grounds immediate termination of performance.

10.    Anticipated starting times specified in the contract, subject to minor modifications because of unanticipated occurrences, are of the essence and hence, Artist is required to be at place of performance a sufficient period of time prior to scheduled time of commencement so as to permit timely productions.

11.    Jitters Coffeehouse, Wells Hall, the Office of Residence Life, the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater, the University of Wisconsin Board of Regents, the State of Wisconsin or any of its employees will not be held responsible for damage, loss or injury involved with this event.

12.    It is understood that damage or loss of Jitters Coffeehouse property, to include the facilities and all sound equipment, is the responsibility of the Artist and will result in reimbursement of all damages to Jitters Coffeehouse by Artist.

13.    The Artist assumes responsibility for the Jitters sound equipment if the Artist opts to facilitate the sound themselves.  It is understood that damage or loss of Jitters Coffeehouse property, due to the negligence of the Artist is the responsibility of the Artist and will result in reimbursement of all damages to Jitters Coffeehouse by Artist.

14.    The Artist agrees that Jitters Coffeehouse is not held accountable for harm, loss, or damage of any kind to Artist’s person or property while located at Jitters Coffeehouse.

15.    The Artist acknowledges and agrees upon the regulations regarding alcohol and/or illegal drug usage, thus being that at no time will the Artist be under the influence prior to or during performance or at any time while at Jitters Coffeehouse. Failure to do so will result in the immediate termination of performance, and referral to the University conduct system.

16.    The Artist must be at least 18 years of age, prior to the night of performance. Failure to do so will result in cancellation of contract and termination of performance.

17.    Sale of souvenir items or programs by Artist shall be permitted upon specific agreement with Jitters Coffeehouse prior to the date of engagement, and then subject to the terms thereof.
